A round table on the project Capacity Building, Information and Awereness Raising towards Promoting Orderly Migration in the Western Balkans, was organised in the City Hall of Nis, Serbia with the aim of introducing possibilities and procedures in relation to work and education abroad as well as opportunities in Serbia after return.
The speakers included Sofia Stridh, First Secretary for Migration at the Embassy of Sweden in Serbia, Dušica Davidovic, the member of the City Council of Nis, Milena Milivojev, the IOM National Coordinator and Monika Petrovic, MSC Assistant.
Among the participants there were representatives of the University of Nis, Association of Health Workers, the Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises, Ministry of Interior, the Centre for the Development of Modern Society, the Association of Businessmen, National Employment Service , Association of Roma Students, as well as representatives of NGOs, trade unions and students’ associations.
MSC staff presented the work, activities and goals of the Migrant Service Centre. Participants were able to ask questions and to give suggestions about future project activities.
Mrs. Dušica Davidovic, the member of the City Council, emphasised that the project will allow citizens of Nis to obtain easily all necessary information related to going abroad, and that the project will represent the intensification of cooperation between the City of Nis, and the Embassy of Sweden.
